David Beckham is so attached to his grandfather, Joseph West, that he has hired a private plane to fly him to Joseph's birthday party after his match for Real Madrid next week.
The star is spending over £12,500 on the private jet to take him to the birthday bash, simply so that he gets there on time.
A source told The People: "When it comes to Joseph, money isn't an issue.
"He and David have always been very close. David wouldn't miss being there for the world."
This is not the only time David's splashed out recently; last month it was claimed that the football star spent over £1,000 a month on underwear.
