The Emmerdale actress, who is married to DJ Jay King and mother to 5-year-old son Corey, said that she is now ready to think about having more children after experiencing a difficult first pregnancy.
Shaw told The Mirror: "Throughout my pregnancy with Corey I was in and out of hospital with kidney infections and anaemia and I had morning sickness until two days before he was born.
"It felt like the worst hangover every day. Then afterwards I had bad baby blues and took anti-depressants for about a year. It was a lot to deal with.
"Now though I'd love more children - but Jay and I have to be in the same house for it to happen! We're both so busy travelling and working but once we've settled down a little bit more, we'll definitely try."
She added: "The experience did put me off for a while and that's why I've left it so long, but I'm in a much happier frame of mind.
"I think I'd have a much better pregnancy - well I hope so. I don't think I'd be such a neurotic mum and I'd get as much help as I could."
