A representative for the actress has confirmed to the newspaper that she has been offered a part in the drama production Extremities but declined to reveal any further details.
The William Mastrosimone play revolves around a woman who manages to fight back against a would-be rapist in her home and ties him up before her roommates return and they discuss what will happen next.
Holmes, who recently announced the Golden Globe Award nominees in Los Angeles, made her Broadway debut in a critically-acclaimed revival of Arthur Miller's 'All My Sons' in 2008. In an interview with Cinema Source earlier this year, she revealed that she would "love" to return to the stage in the future.
"It's so much fun and I loved the cast and the community was so welcoming and wonderful," she said. "I really appreciated that and I enjoyed every single night so I can't wait to go back to theatre... I'm very excited to go back."
