During an interview on The Howard Stern Show, the actor praised Lohan's character but refused to confirm if the pair had attended rehab at the Betty Ford Centre at the same time.
"Lindsay Lohan is a very good person who is a really nice gal and is doing very well," he said.
"That's all I have to say about that. I can't even confirm she was there!"
Arnold went on to say that he believes Lohan is making excellent progress in treatment, adding: "She's doing really good. A lot of the young kids are doing really good. I can only say that she's great.
"All she needs is an a**hole like me talking about her treatment and her recovery. That’s the last thing she needs. She's doing great."
