Lil Wayne shocked by Ja Rule jail time

Lil Wayne has admitted to being disappointed after learning that fellow rapper Ja Rule is facing two years in prison.

According to MTV, Wayne recently told an interviewer that he empathised with Ja Rule after serving jail time himself recently.

"That's super crazy and very disappointing," Wayne told US radio station Shade 45. "Me and Ja were kinda locked up together.

"And to know he got them two [years], and I've already dealt with the situation and came home. I would imagine it's a hard pill to swallow," he added.

Wayne was released from prison in November after serving eight months for criminal possession of a gun.

Ja Rule pleaded guilty earlier this month to a gun possession charge, stemming from an incident in 2007 in which he and Wayne were both arrested.
