James Van Der Beek explains baby name

James Van Der Beek has spoken about the thought process behind naming his daughter Olivia.

Van Der Beek married wife Kimberly in August, and Olivia will be three-months-old on Christmas Day.

Talking to People, the actor revealed that special significance behind his daughter's name.

"We wanted her to come out and then see what her name would be," he explained.

"She looks like an Olivia. [Plus] there's an olive tree in Israel that's special to us."

Kimberly added: “We spent time under it when we first met in Israel, then we went back to this tree when I was pregnant.”

The couple welcomed the child in September.
