TMZ reports that the former Frasier star, who announced his engagement to girlfriend Kayte Walsh earlier this month, has requested a "bifurcation" in his divorce from estranged wife Camille.
According to the website, the process would mean that Kelsey would be legally divorced six months from the date that petition papers were filed by Camille - meaning that the actor may be free to marry Walsh as early as January 1, 2011.
However, all monetary and property arrangements would be postponed, to be settled at a later date.
A source close to Camille said: "[She] is not surprised, but continues to be disappointed at Kelsey's immature and disrespectful behaviour."
