In the accident in question, Prinze Jr reportedly crashed his wife Sarah Michelle Gellar's car into another vehicle, according to TMZ.
The driver of the other vehicle states that he suffered a neck injury that is in need of surgery. He claims that he has not been capable of working since the accident, and that he has been told by a doctor that he must undergo surgery if he hopes to recover.
Sources have said that the man did not want to sue Prinze Jr, but found the lawsuit unavoidable when he did not have enough money to cover the surgery.
Prinze Jr has not yet issued a statement on the lawsuit.
