Nicole Richie ends probation early

A judge has terminated Nicole Richie's probation two months earlier than scheduled.

The star was on probation for a 2006 DUI charge. She was stopped after being seen driving the wrong way on the freeway in Los Angeles.

Her probation was scheduled to end in February, but Richie's lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley proved to the judge in the case that the actress had completed the terms of her test period.

Part of her probation included completing an 18-month alcohol education programme.

Richie and Good Charlotte singer Joel Madden recently married in Los Angeles.
