Simon Cowell tipped for knighthood

Simon Cowell's odds to be given a knighthood by the Queen have been slashed by bookmakers.

Paddy Power have shortened the odds of the music mogul to be given the honour to 11/8.

According to ITN, both Tory and Labour MPs are backing the X Factor judge because of his large amount of charity work, as well as his contribution to the entertainment industry.

Cowell helped raise over £2 million for Haiti earthquake victims by organising the Helping Haiti charity record, and has also supported other charities such as Help for Heroes through The X Factor.

Other celebrities tipped to be knighted include Bruce Forsyth at 9/4, with JK Rowling and David Beckham, both at 5/2.
