The Burlesque star, who split from husband Jordan Bratman in October, told The Sunday Times that she does not consider herself a person who is easily unnerved.
Aguilera explained: "In the big picture I'm pretty fearless, but I am afraid of the dark. I sleep with the light on. Or the TV. It's comforting."
She continued: "I wasn't scared of the dark as a child. But as I got older and started spending time in hotel rooms it was a comfort to keep the TV on so that you felt that you were not so alone."
