The pair fell out on-stage when Stewart began criticising Corden for his hosting technique and highlighted the comic's large physique to the audience.
Speaking about the incident to the Evening Standard, Corden claimed that he had no ill feeling towards the the actor.
"It seems ridiculous that you would even refer to it as the Patrick Stewart thing. I couldn't have less of a problem with him. He just went for it, he was unscripted and I've no idea where it was going," he said.
"He came up and chose to say those things... And I wish I hadn't looked like I was so angry. Because I was just bemused. I'm not entirely sure what happened wasn't what he wanted. But you know, he's Sir Patrick Stewart and he's great."
The Gavin & Stacey star added: "Everyone's allowed a mistake. My hunch is he's a really nice guy."
