The 'Un-Break My Heart' singer - who released her comeback single 'Yesterday' in the UK last year - asked fans on Twitter for their opinion on whether or not she should accept the magazine's fourth approach.
"New Year, New opportunities," she wrote. "So I have been considering taking up Playboy's offer to feature me on their cover this year. What you think?"
She continued: "I would love to pose with Hugh Hefner though. He's the sexiest guy I know over 30."
Responding to fans concerns, the 43-year-old insisted that any shoot would be "tastefully done".
