Carlos Santana marries Cindy Blackman

Carlos Santana has married his girlfriend and Santana drummer Cindy Blackman.

The rocker - who proposed to Blackman on stage during a concert in July - tied the knot in Hawaii on December 19, reports People.

"The weather was kind of iffy, so we said, 'Let's just do it inside'," he recalled of the big day.

"Because no matter where we did it, the sun was shining."

Blackman also enjoyed the weather, revealing that the downpour added a special element to the ceremony.

"Rain represents mercy. It couldn't have been more beautiful," she said.

"My favourite part of the ceremony was when we washed our hands in a bowl of rainwater. We absolved ourselves of all things past and all things future except the two of us. It felt so clearing to do that."

The ceremony - held on the island of Maui - was attended by 180 guests including George Lopez, Herbie Hancock and jazz musician Wayne Shorter.
