Madison 'awkward about Hefner engagement'

Holly Madison has admitted that she was "very surprised" to hear of ex-boyfriend Hugh Hefner's recent engagement to 24-year-old Playboy Playmate Crystal Harris.

Talking to E Online, the Holly's World star admitted that she has mixed feelings about the proposal, which was announced late last month.

"I have a lot of different feelings on it. I don't just feel one way," she explained.

"I kind of didn't want to put a generic statement out there like 'Congratulations!' because I felt everyone would see through that."

She later visited the Playboy mansion to meet with the couple and "tell everybody face-to-face how [she] felt".

Describing the visit to US Weekly, she said: "I'd describe it as awkward. I just wanted to get my feelings out about the engagement and I wanted to talk to him first.

"It's definitely awkward to feel like you're confronting someone. I'm glad I did it. I wanted to be fair and tell him first."

Madison and Hefner began dating in 2001 and ended their relationship in October 2008.
