Placido Domingo to receive top classical award

Placido Domingo is to perform at the Classical Brits, where he will receive a lifetime achievement award.
65-year-old Domingo explained: "I'm truly delighted to be honoured with this very special award, and I look forward to returning to the Royal Albert Hall."
Michael Parkinson will present the award to Domingo on May 4. The annual ceremony was founded in 2000 by the British Phonographic Industry.
BPI chairman Peter Jamieson said: "We are delighted that the great Placido Domingo, an artist who excels not just as a tenor but as a conductor, will be joining us."
