Michael Parkinson will present the award to Domingo on May 4. The annual ceremony was founded in 2000 by the British Phonographic Industry.

BPI chairman Peter Jamieson said: "We are delighted that the great Placido Domingo, an artist who excels not just as a tenor but as a conductor, will be joining us."
