Andrew Garfield has revealed that he was hospitalised following a meal with Never Let Me Go co-stars Carey Mulligan and Keira Knightley.

The star of the upcoming Spider-Man reboot told Marie Clare that the cast often went for dinner together while shooting at a seaside town in Norfolk.

However, on one occasion, an ingredient in the food triggered anaphylactic shock to the point of the actor having to be hospitalised.

Garfield explained: "When we were filming in Norfolk, I went to dinner with Carey and Keira one night. There I was sitting in between these beautiful girls, when I started having an allergic reaction to something in my food.

"I had to spend the rest of that night in hospital. [Screenwriter] Alex Garland took me. I'm used to it, because I've been in hospital a few times with this, but Carey was beside herself and Keira was terrified."

He added: "It was just the most awkward moment ever, to go into anaphylactic shock at dinner."
