Zsa Zsa Gabor husband 'approves surgery'

Zsa Zsa Gabor is reportedly due to undergo major surgery, after approval from her husband.

TMZ reports that the 93-year-old, who was hospitalised following a fall last year and has subsequently developed a potentially life-threatening blood clot in her leg, will go under general anaesthetic.

Gabor's husband Prince Frederic Von Anhalt signed documents giving permission for doctors to conduct the procedure, which carries a significant risk of complications due to the actress's age.

Surgeons will reportedly carry out an MRI scan to identify how best to treat the clot, and, if necessary, will amputate half of her leg.

Earlier this week, it was reported that doctors were administering an aggressive regime of antibiotics in an effort to avoid having to amputate the limb.
