Shields: 'I won't allow children to act'

Shields herself began acting at the age of just 12 but claims that she would be reluctant to allow her own children to follow in her footsteps.
"I would never start them as young as I did," Shields told Psychologies magazine. "For a start, my life isn't conducive to that.
"Selfishly, I wouldn't give up on my career to work on theirs," she continued.
Shields added that she would be happy for her children to start acting once they have graduated, but only at that point in their lives.
Shields's most notable appearance on screen in recent years was as one of the stars of NBC's Lipstick Jungle, which was cancelled in 2009.
