Cruise, Holmes 'snub Oscars' over Hathaway?

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have reportedly decided against an appearance at this year's Oscars after they were mocked by the ceremony's host Anne Hathaway.

The A-list couple are said to be unhappy with the Love And Other Drugs star for delivering an unflattering impersonation of Holmes - complete with repeated awkward ear tucks and exaggerated breathy tones - during a Saturday Night Live sketch in November.

A Hollywood source claims that the send-up hit Cruise and Holmes particularly hard, as they had supported Hathaway during her difficult split from conman Raffaello Follieri in 2008.

They told the Mail On Sunday: "Tom and Katie don't want to have to cross paths with Anne. Katie feels they were really supportive at a difficult time, so she feels let down that Anne took to national TV to make fun of her.

"Anne didn't even warn her it was going to be on TV. The whole thing has left a sour taste with Tom."

A spokesperson for Cruise refused to comment on whether either of the couple would attend the Oscars, stating only: "It's too early to confirm - it depends on shoot schedules."

Hathaway will co-host the 83rd Academy Awards with James Franco on February 27.
