Jade Goody mum recalls attempted suicide

Jackiey Budden, the mother of the late Jade Goody, has confessed that she attempted to commit suicide in order to be with her daughter again.

The 52-year-old told the Mail On Sunday how she slashed her legs with a razor blade in the belief that this would reunite her with the reality star, who died from cervical cancer in March 2009.

She said: "I just wanted a way out. I have felt like the loneliest person in the world since Jade died and no one was listening for my cries for help.

"Everything was just getting on top of me and I just didn't want to be here in a world without Jade. So I thought the best way to be with her was to end things for good."

Before the incident, Budden wrote a suicide note addressed to Goody's children Bobby and Freddy, as well as other loved ones, in which she explained: "I have tryed so hard to keep together for her and the boys BUT today I just really want to be with her... want people to no I can't live without her I have tryed (sic)."

However, Budden was saved from death by an unknown passerby who called an ambulance after spotting her unconscious on the doorstep of her Bermondsey home.

Referring to her mysterious saviour, Budden said of her daughter: "She was obviously shining down on me."
