Nicole Richie celebrates daughter's birthday

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden have celebrated their daughter Harlow's third birthday.

The couple, who married at a lavish ceremony at Lionel Richie's mansion at the end of last year, marked the occasion with a star-studded party at their home in Los Angeles over the weekend.

Among the celebrities in attendance were Kourtney Kardashian and son Mason Dash Disick, Ellen Pompeo and daughter Stella, Jessica Alba and daughter Honour and Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale and their sons Kingston and Zuma, according to photographs published by the Daily Mail.

Richie and Madden are also parents to son Sparrow, who was born in 2009. During a recent appearance on CBS's The Talk, the former Simple Life star hinted that more children could be on the cards but that the couple are not rushing to extend their family.

"I don't think it's fair to ask someone who has had two back-to-back if they'll have another one! Right now I'm like, 'Nooo!' But you never know," she said. "I need a nap, I need a minute!"
