Speaking to MTV News, Hedlund said that Stewart is particularly adept at preparing one of his favourite spicy soups.
"You got to try the tortilla soup," he declared. "It's incredible. She's honed it."
The actor also admitted that he doesn't possess a similar level of talent when it comes to food preparation.
He explained: "I'm pretty much a klutz in the kitchen. I go through waves… Sometimes I just depend on pots and pans and cook up out of convenience, and sometimes I can't even find a fork."
Hedlund recently touted Stewart's "incredible" performance in Brazilian director Walter Salles's big screen adaptation of Jack Kerouac's 1957 novel.
On The Road is to be released in US cinemas later this year.
