Bertinelli invited ex Van Halen to wedding

Valerie Bertinelli has revealed that her ex-husband Eddie Van Halen attended her recent wedding to Tom Vitale.

The Hot In Cleveland star told Access Hollywood that the legendary guitarist attended her recent nuptials in order to maintain a family environment for their son Wolfgang.

"I think it's really important that you never ever hate your ex more than you love your children and I've never hated Ed, so I'm lucky," she said.

Bertinelli further explained that it's vital for parents to put the needs of their children before their own disagreements.

She noted: "I think as adults we need to [stay united] - because we're disrupting their lives and they don't have any say about it. We're the ones that have to be grown ups and behave and treat each other with dignity and kindness, because it's for our children's sake."

Van Halen and Bertinelli were married for over 24 years, before splitting in late 2005.

Hot In Cleveland's second season kicks off on January 19 on TV Land.
