Grant Denyer has reportedly banned his pregnant wife from leaving Brisbane during the flood disaster.
The Australian weatherman, who is married to television producer Cheryl Rogers, said that he was "freaked out" when their car became trapped on the submerged Bruce Highway for more than three hours earlier this week.
Denyer told the Herald Sun: "There wasn't even a way we could go to the toilet, which for a pregnant woman is not good. The police were thinking we might even have to abandon the car and walk, but luckily they managed to open one lane and get people out.
"You do get thoughts in your head like, 'What happens if Chezzi goes into labour here? What if there's a problem with the baby?' I don't want her doing that again."
This week, Denyer broke down on television about the flooding, saying that he felt responsible for not warning the public about the dangers sooner.
He said: "We should have seen it coming, we should have warned people. It's one of those things you could never predict, but that doesn't make it any easier."
