Martha Stewart 'injured by pet bulldog'

Martha Stewart has revealed that she was forced to undergo a cosmetic procedure after being injured by her French bulldog Francesca.

The Martha Stewart Show host was rushed to the emergency room at Northern Westchester Hospital in New York on Tuesday after the dog "bolted upright" after being startled awake and hit her face.

"She bolted upright with such force that she hit me in the face like a boxing glove hitting an opponent's face," she wrote on her official blog on Thursday.

"I was entirely startled and my neck snapped back. I felt a bit of whiplash as blood gushed forth from my split lip. Frannie was as upset as I was and cowered in her bed."

Stewart was able to have a plastic surgeon correct the damage.
