Gabor 'recovering well' after amputation

Zsa Zsa Gabor is said to be recovering well following surgery yesterday to amputate a portion of her right leg.

Gabor was forced to undergo the surgical procedure after doctors discovered a blood clot which could have killed the actress.

"The surgery today (Friday) went well, however she is in frail health so we will continue to monitor her closely," her surgeon confirmed, according to Yahoo News.

Publicist John Blanchette added that Gabor will likely remain in hospital for a couple of weeks but is hoping to be home in time for her 94th birthday in early February.

The television personality has suffered from ill health in recent years after being paralysed in a car accident in 2002, as well as suffering a stroke back in 2005.
