Pete Doherty's plea for his cocaine possession case to be thrown out of court has been rejected by a judge.

The Babyshambles star was arrested with two friends following the death of heiress Robyn Whitehead, who overdosed in January 2010 while working on a documentary about him.

According to the Daily Star, the trio's legal team failed to convince a district judge that their case should be dismissed from Thames Magistrates' Court.

Doherty and his co-defendants Peter Wolfe and Alan Wass will appear in court on February 2.
