Gary Glitter claimed he was victim of a "conspiracy" last night after being jailed for three years.
A Vietnamese court found him guilty of sexually molesting two girls, aged 11 and 12, at his home in Vung Tau last year.
Judge Hoang Thanh Tung said: "His lewd acts have compromised the dignity of the Vietnamese people, law and common sense, and therefore it is necessary to punish him."
After being sentenced, Glitter shouted to a heaving press pack: "I am innocent. It is a conspiracy by you know who."
Glitter previously escaped a maximum charge of death by firing squad for the crime.
