Kelly Preston: 'Public support is healing'

Kelly Preston has praised the public for their messages of support following the birth of her third child.

The Casino Jack actress and husband John Travolta welcomed their son Benjamin last year. Their first-born son Jett passed away at the age of 16 following a seizure.

"[The public support] has been wonderfully healing," she told NBC's Today Show correspondent Natalie Morales on Wednesday.

"Of course, it's still every day but I think it's been a really nice gift for a lot of people throughout the world. We've gotten the most beautiful letters and beautiful notes of happiness, and I think a sigh of a relief a bit, and that's been nice to share with people."

The interview marked Preston's first television appearance since the birth of Benjamin - who she described as a "miracle" - back in November.

Jett passed away at the family's home in the Bahamas in 2009. Travolta previously said that Benjamin had "given the house a renewed spirit and purpose" and brought a "new beginning" for the family, which includes the couple's daughter Ella Bleu.
