According to People, Coyle proposed to the former Full House star at her 29th birthday party.
"It was a complete surprise. We are just thrilled and I am in shock still," Sweetin said. "We are in no hurry as far as dates or anything like that."
Coyle added: "We want to wait until there's equality for everybody to get married."
The couple welcomed their first child together, Beatrix Carlin Sweetin Coyle, last September.
