Robert Redford: 'New wife changed my life'

Robert Redford has said that his marriage to second wife Sibylle Szaggars in 2009 has changed his life for the better.

In an interview with AARP The Magazine, the Great Gatsby star revealed that his spouse has brought him an renewed sense of joy.

"She's a very special person," he remarked. "She's younger than I am [in her early 50s], and European, which I like, so that's a whole new life."

74-year-old Redford also added that, despite his age, he still likes to engage in brisk physical activities.

"I ride horses, ski, play pretty hard tennis… I still have energy. When that starts to shut down, I might start to think about age," he said.

Over the course of his lengthy career as both an actor and director, Redford has won three BAFTAs and two Academy Awards.
