According to the New York Post, the singer and actor was chosen for the role after a successful run in The Pajama Game, also on Broadway.
The role will see Connick "affecting a Viennese accent as a psychiatrist in the old Alan Jay Lerner-Burton Lane musical".
Reps for Connick have not confirmed the deal.
