Danielle Lineker: 'Gary would never cheat'

Gary Lineker's wife Danielle has stated that the football legend would never be unfaithful.

The West End actress dismissed suggestions that the Match Of The Day pundit may be tempted to look for a woman of greater substance, assuring the Daily Mail of her intelligence and his loyalty.

"I'm a tough girl, though - you can say what you like about me," she said. "But when people say I'm stupid, that gets to me. Gary's really intelligent. Do you think he'd marry somebody who can't string a sentence together?

"Gary's the most loyal person you could meet. Those rumours are rubbish. Has anyone ever said, 'I had an affair with Gary Lineker'? Until they do, I don't believe it. Gary's my best friend. He really is Mr Nice Guy."

Despite their successful relationship, Danielle reiterated previous claims that the couple are not yet looking to have children together.

"Look, I've never said this before, but children are so off the radar for me. I'm so in love with what I'm doing, I can't see anything else. I'm so driven at the moment, so ambitious to achieve. And now I've finally got a chance."
