Sunny, the daughter of Bullock's ex-husband Jesse James and the former porn star Janine Lindemulder, is receiving assistance from her stepmother Bullock, reports Pop Eater. Bullock is apparently helping the 6-year-old cope with getting yet another stepmother when her father James weds Kat Von D.
"Sandra loves Sunny with all her heart and will always be in her life," said a friend. "However, she also knows that [Sunny] will have a new mommy soon and will do whatever she needs to do to make sure Jesse's new wife and Sunny have a great relationship even if that means taking a step away."
The source continued: "[Sandra] has given that sweet child nothing but love. As difficult as this will be, once again Sandra will prove what a lady she is."
According to the Chicago Sun Times, Bullock is worried about the effect James's upcoming marriage might have on the young girl.
"First there is that messy conflict between Jesse and Sunny's mum Janine, which originally also involved Sandy," said a close friend of Bullock's. "Then, along comes the break-up of Sandy's marriage to Jesse - and all the issues related to that - which Sunny didn't really understand.
"Now Jesse brings a new, very different kind of woman into Sunny's life, who will be a very different kind of stepmother for Sunny."
James and Von D announced their engagement last Thursday.
