Dr Conrad Murray has pleaded not guilty to the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson.

The medical professional is accused of giving the King of Pop a lethal dose of Propofol and other sedatives back in 2009, but insisted at today's arraignment that he is "an innocent man".

According to TMZ, Murray told Judge Michael Pastor: "Your honour, I am an innocent man... I therefore plead not guilty."

The trial is due to begin on March 28. Murray will face a maximum of four years in jail if convicted.

Deputy District Attorney David Walgren argued during a preliminary hearing earlier this month that Jackson died due to "the negligence and reckless acts of Dr Murray".
