The new State Theatre Centre in the late actor's home town of Perth, which was formally opened yesterday, will feature a 575-seat auditorium called the Heath Ledger Theatre.
His father Kim told AAP: "I think Heath would have thought it was magnificent. I have said this before, and we all agree, that he must have been a bird on the shoulder of the architect."
His sister Kate added: "It's reflective of the way he was as a person. The theatre is eerily reflective," while mother Sally said: "[It's a] very mixed emotional time for us but ultimately, we're very, very proud."
