A London court has heard that Pete Doherty is making "positive progress" in his battle against drug addiction.
The Babyshambles singer was at Thames Magistrates' Court in East Lonodn for a review of his recently imposed community order. The court was told that Doherty's "determination was increasing," according to BBC News Online.
Solicitor Sean Curran said that Doherty testing negative for drugs in the near future was a "genuinely achievable objective."
District Judge Jane McIvor noted: "It is very good progress and clearly a positive start. It seems that his determination is increasing. It is not expected to get a negative test in the first review period but I hope that opiate replacement will happen in the next period."
However, Doherty was recently arrested again on seven counts of various drug possession and will appear in court on Thursday on new sets of drugs charges.
