The Libertines singer/guitarist was charged with the crime after an inquiry into the death of 27-year-old filmmaker Robin Whitehead in January 2010.
Presiding at a preliminary hearing at Thames Magistrates' Court in London, Judge Jacqueline Comyns committed the case to Snaresbrook Crown Court on March 29, BBC News reports.
Doherty, 31, of Marlborough, Wiltshire will be joined by Alan Wass, 29, of Latimer Road, West London and Peter Wolfe, 42, of Maidstone at the hearing.
Wass has been charged with cocaine possession, while Wolfe has been charged with two counts of cocaine possession and one count of supplying cocaine.
