Billy Joel responds to Elton comments

Billy Joel has responded to Elton John's accusations about his alleged alcohol problem.

The 'Rocket Man' singer recently told Rolling Stone that Joel should return to rehab to deal with his addiction as his past attempts have not worked.

However, Joel shrugged off the claims, telling Gossip Cop: "I've worked with Elton for such a long time and I've enjoyed our relationship too much to let something as random as these comments change my affection for him.

"Elton is just being Elton."

Joel previously received treatment at a Connecticut rehab facility for alcohol-related issues in 2002.
