Sara Ramirez: 'I struggled with body issues'

Sara Ramirez has confessed that she has struggled with body image issues.

In an interview with Latina magazine, the Grey's Anatomy actress revealed that she often felt pressure in the past to conform to Hollywood standards on what a woman should look like.

"There's a whole list of things you could worry about," she explained.

"Are you skinny enough? Talented enough? In all kinds of ways, I used to be really, really hard on myself."

However, Ramirez insisted that she has come to terms with her appearance and now appreciates being different.

"I've never been very cookie cutter. If I choose something different from the status quo, it's my responsibility and my choice to live my life that way," she said.
