Clarke takes Tait as date to sports event

Michael Clarke took Shaun Tait as his date to a recent sports event.

The Australian cricket captain, who called off his engagement to swimwear model Lara Bingle last year following her involvement in a nude photograph scandal, said that he took his teammate to the Allan Border Medal ceremony because he is currently "single".

Clarke joked to the Herald Sun on the red carpet: "I'm single, but I brought a date - Shaun Tait, aka 'Wild Thing'."

He also described himself as "not much of a matchmaker" after recently being criticised for failing to find fellow cricketer Steve Smith a date for the event on Twitter.
