Cheryl Cole 'turns to Ashley for support'

Cheryl Cole has reportedly opened up to Ashley Cole in a series of late-night phone calls and texts.

The 'Promise This' singer is said to have turned to her ex-husband as uncertainty over her potential role on The X Factor USA continues. The Daily Star claims that Ashley has grown concerned over Cheryl's current lifestyle.

"Ashley has been desperate to prove he's a changed man and he is doing his best to be there for Cheryl," a source told the paper. "He has been giving her advice and just trying to ease her fears because he knows how emotionally fragile she is at the moment.

"Ashley has been cancelling arrangements with pals in case he misses a message from Cheryl or she tries to get hold of him late at night. He'd hate her to think he was out partying."

They added: "They're carrying on as single people but there's no doubt that they're warmer, happier and are enjoying talking to each other again."

It was previously claimed that Cheryl had secretly met up with Ashley, who recently split from girlfriend Kayla Collins.
