Halle Berry: 'Motherhood is my priority'

Halle Berry has insisted that motherhood always takes priority over her acting career.

The actress told Ebony magazine that she will never put her own goals ahead of the needs of her 2-year-old daughter Nahla.

"Being a mother is probably the most important thing in my life right now," she said.

The star added: "Career is important, but nothing really supersedes my role as a mother. That's the most important thing I'm going to do in this life at this point."

Last month, it was reported that Berry is preparing for a legal battle with former partner Gabriel Aubry over custody of Nahla.

She will next star in Dark Trade, which is expected to be released in US cinemas later this year.
