Jackson ordered to close Neverland ranch

Michael Jackson must close his Neverland ranch after not paying staff or renewing their insurance.

Californian authorities made the demand and fined the singer $169,000 (£97,000) for failing to pay at least 30 staff since December and leaving them uninsured since January.

Officials made the order to a security guard at the gates when their request to talk to managers was denied.

Workers have been told to stay away from work, while Jackson – who is living in Bahrain – has five days to appeal.

Animals from the ranch's zoo are being cared for by the authority.
