Joel Madden: 'Fidelity is key for men'

Joel Madden has claimed that the key to having a successful relationship for any man is staying faithful.

The Good Charlotte singer, who married Nicole Richie in December, insisted that fidelity is vital to maintaining a healthy romance.

He told Kerrang: "I guarantee that if you stick to this rule you will have a successful relationship. It's that simple.

"No matter how much you f**k up, no matter how thoughtless you may be, no matter how bad a listener you may be as a man, if you don’t f**k anyone else your relationship will stick and you will be trusted."

However, the 31-year-old also admitted that this is a lesson he learnt in time.

He added: "How long did it take me to learn that? Pretty much every relationship I've ever had until the one I’m in now."
