Normally known for staging the works of Shakespeare, the Globe will play home to The God Of Soho, written by playwright Chris Hannan.
The show is about a celebrity couple whose explosive relationship is played out in the tabloids. Hannan told the Evening Standard: "I've got a character where it's pretty vague what she is a celebrity for. But we're all drawn to fame and magnetised by it.
"The contemporary equivalent of the kings and queens and dukes that Shakespeare puts on stage are these stars. We call them our gods and goddesses."
The play, which is set between Soho and Essex, will run from April 17 to October 2.
