Owl City sends Valentine to Taylor Swift

Owl City star Adam Young has penned a public Valentine's Day message to Taylor Swift.

The singer took to his official blog on February 14 to publish a letter to Swift, after concluding that her album track 'Enchanted' was written about him.

The blog post - called 'Dear Taylor' - starts with Young recounting his excitement at buying her Speak Now record before discovering the letters 'ADAM' in the lyric booklet and realising the song's apparent subject.

"The track is absolutely gorgeous and I'm so tremendously honoured that Taylor would write such an elegant song and thereby offer a gracious nod in my direction," he wrote. "Needless to say, I was lost for words and utterly smitten. I couldn't stop smiling."

He went on to admit that he is a "bit shy" so he thought a musical response would be the most articulate way of expressing his feelings, posting a link to himself performing a slightly altered version of 'Enchanted'.

"You are a true princess from a dreamy fairy tale; a modern Cinderella," he added to Swift. "I'm terribly sorry it's taken me such a long time to reply but I figured Valentine's Day was the perfect time to write this note to you and simply say… I was enchanted to meet you too."

Swift, who is currently on her world tour, has yet to respond. She previously hinted that the track had been written about somebody she had met in New York after exchanging several emails.
