Johnny Depp: 'Kids changed my world view'

Johnny Depp has insisted that having children has changed the way he views the world.

The actor, who has two kids with partner Vanessa Paradis, told Access Hollywood that his most important role in life is being a father to 10-year-old Lily-Rose and 7-year-old Jack.

"The birth of my daughter, my first kid, was the lifting of a veil. It was like having this fog removed from your eyes… And suddenly you could see things clearly in great focus," Depp said.

He added: "In terms of being a dad, in terms of being a pop, that's exactly who I am… But in the context of the world that I work in, I'm still sort of figuring it out I guess."

While filming The Ninth Gate in 1998, Depp first met Paradis and entered into a relationship that has lasted more than a decade.

The actor provides the voice of an adventurous chameleon in Rango, which is released on March 4 in US and UK cinemas.
