TMZ reports that the Motley Crue rocker checked into the Clark County Detention Centre in Nevada on Tuesday to serve the time, which stemmed from his June 2010 DUI case.
After completing his time at the prison, he will serve an additional 15 days of house arrest as part of a plea bargain arranged with prosecutors last month.
Neil recently faced legal trouble with the IRS over an alleged $1.1 million (£680,000) in back taxes.
